You know, I've driven while stoned thousands of times and its not really a problem. All you have to do is common sense shit like NOT going way too fast, stop at stop signs and stop lights, and always keep an eye on whats going on around you.

Edit: Not commending on story, as the driver was not drunk, just saying in general.
