When to transplant
You are ok for now, but you're plant is going to get bigger and you will need to transplant. As a rule of thumb, remember, 1 foot of plant per gallon of pot. So you are right at the limit. If you have a bigger one, go ahead and transplant.

When to transplant
...looks like you are getting close to flowering (12/12)...I prefer transplanting into the biggest pot, I plan on using just before going to 12/12.
5 gallon? ...make damn sure it drains well, or you will have a bucket of mud.
yellow leaves? ...overwater maybe...I'm not good at plant problems...never had any...imp:

When to transplant
Well Turksteelman,
]When is the best time to transplant? Looking at your plant, I would think that plant is already root bound. You need to put in some work like yesterday. I prefer to start big then forgo the transplanting. But what do I know?

When to transplant
I transplanted today into the 5 gallon. You are correct, it was root bound. I picked up some Earth Juice bloom today as well as a timer and black/white mylar to seperate the closet space I have due to having 4 2 week seedlings in the same closet. I will start flowering tomorrow. I still have the magnesium thing going as can be seen on the picture of the leaves. Is it important that I don't go into flowering until I clear up the Mg issue? I have been folliar feeding for the past week.

When to transplant
The foliar feeding should clear it up pretty quickly. Mag diff. looks strangely like another type of diff....can't recall for sure but check out some plant problem websites and clearly identify your problem.
In my opinion, your plant looks fine to induce flowering, just give it a few days to adjust to its new home. Use some B-1 formula to get it adjusted quickly.
When I had a Mag diff. the foilar spray took care of it pretty quickly. Remember, the spray won't take away the yellow spots you are worried about, but rather feed the plant what it needs to not produce more yellowing (aka continue the diffeciency) Hope this helps.
What type of nutes?

When to transplant
Thanks for the tip on the yellow spots not dissappearing. I was waiting for that to happen! As far as nutes go: Earth Juice Grow (and Bloom soon), Liquid Karma, Cal-mag, bat guano.

When to transplant
What I find strange is that there are alot of folks that have been growing their plants for 3-4 months and are just going to go into flowering. My plant is only about 5 weeks old. It almost seems like it was just a seedling! However, I am growing in a closet and can't let it get too big. Is there any problem going to flowering so soon?
