i used to carry my butterfly knife everywhere.. (single edged, so it was legal... tho i'm sure the cops would love to give me hell over it)

i guess i grew outta the habbit... you never know when you'll need a knife to take a life, or save one tho... or even just when one could make your life easier, so i've always had a habbit of carrying some type of knife...

dunno why i stopped, i just quit walking mostly i guess...

but as psycho said... if you don't know how to use it, you're just giving them a weapon... not actually helping yourself... but i'd like to add to it... if you're not 100% ready to stab or slice someone should they actually do somethign ot warrant it, don't even carry that knife...

it actually does take alot more balls to stab someone then you'd think tho... i mean you can say you're hard and would do it all you want, but when the oppurtunity.... or situation should i say, is there.... it's alot diffrent...

i know i and alot of other people as human beings with consciences find it hard to severely injure or maybe even kill someone... until they've put our life in such danger we actually believe they're about ot severely injure us or kill us theirself...

kind of a me or him situation... i'm not afraid of death, i'm not even afraid of pain... (lol ask my wife) but i am (cursed or blessed, guess it depends on how you look at it) with a very, VERY large conscience...

basicly all i'm saying tho, is unless you know how to use it, when to use it, and have the balls to use it... don't even carry it.... you're actually just making yourself more vulnerable, either by giving your attacker a weapon they didn't have before, or giving yourself a false sense of security....

despite what you see in movies... it's not very hard to disarm someone with a knife...
