    My first cloneing attempt.

I just started 12 clones today. I took them from 6 plants. 2 each. How long does it usually take for them to start coming back from wilting? These little guys wilted within minutes. This is my first try at cloning. I am using rapid rooters, with cloning jell. For the water, I put in half strength clonex, hygrozyme, and Pot of Gold. all of these i put in at half what they said to use for clones, I then put these in a clone dome, and put a t-5 light over them, with the vents half open on the dome? Can anyone tell me if this sounds about right?

Can anyone tell me how long it usually takes for them to recover from being cut?

They'll come right back, usually within hours.

Don't keep the Rapid Roots too wet- they're usually pretty good right out of the bag.

Keep the t-5 pretty high- this is the only time when more light isn't always better.

Don't fuss over em too much- the first tray of cuttings that you forget about and neglect will be the first one to go perfectly.

This is what I added to the rapid rooters....
For the water, I put in half strength clonex, hygrozyme, and Pot of Gold.
Of this I only added one tsp per clone.
This is what I was told to do by the Hydro store guy. This store is really nice, 4,000 square feet of Hydro stuff. They even have a fully stocked bar. You get free drinks while you do your shopping.

Rhizome, If I give the clones, one tsp of this mixed water, per day, you think that will be ok? Humidity in room is about 30%, and it is 80%

Also, can anyone give me an idea how long until roots shoot out of the rapid rooter. I know it all depends on strain and which plant it came from. Just a ball park idea.

this is Just amazing!! 9 out of the 12 clones have pretty much rebounded from the wilting already, and the other 3 are making good progress.

I sure am glad I listened to people in here and started clones this time around. But time will tell.

Oh yah, the 80% in the last post was 80 degrees fehrinhite.. (spl)

Is it bad that I took the clones from the low branches that had multiple Nodes. I took them one node up from bottom of branch, at a 45 degree cut.

Ok, as I stated earlier. My plants pretty much recovered from the wilting in 3-4 hours, but when I got up this morning, most all of them were wilted again. Is this normal?

First off - calm down. LOL Then go to the FAQ section and read about clones - don't just read up until where you stick it in the rapid rooter, read the whole fucking thing. Then you won't be making the silly mistakes you are making.

Lower branches are great for clones. Some growers claim they are better than the upper ones.

I soak my rapid rooters overnight - or a few hours - in clonex @ 1/4 strength then let them drain for a while before I use them.

Think about this - at the outset, your clone has no roots. What good is it going to do to give them a tspful of water every day?

Mist your cuttings with the 1/4 clonex solution. Close the vents on your dome. Moisten the rapid rooters when the appear to be drying out - about every three days or so; more once the roots come out. Take the dome off the tray a couple times a day to give the cuttings some air. Mist them when they appear droopy. Open the vents only after roots appear.

The big trick here is to keep your cloning environment moist, not wet. Moist, the roots will grow. Wet, everthing rots.

Like Rizome said, the best clones you'll ever get are the ones you forget about and leave alone.

    Good luck!!!
