    Too heavy?

I love to cook and I'm damn good at it. I've thought about combining my two favorite loves for a long time but I still havenā??t tried it. When I was researching cooking with cannabis a while back I read that you should try to eat your tasty little snack on an empty stomach to get the full effect. An exfriend also told me that I shouldnā??t make anything hardy, that it should be small and concentrated. For the same reasons as eating on an empty stomach, that the extra food will dull the effects of the bud. I havenā??t been able to find anything online that backs up his statement. Is he right?

The reason Iā??m asking is because I make a mean (non-bake) mac nā?? cheese. I always thought it would make a good cannarecipe because of the lovely fat content (at one point in the recipe you are simmering cheddar, cream and butter for a bit). But from what he said it would be too heavy a food, and that I should just make cookies, brownies or something like that. Is he right?

I wouldn't say it's too "heavy" a food. If you have the right amount of cannabis, and the cooking technique down, any food with a high enough fat content would work fine. But, you have to remember to put enough cannabis in there....how much of it were you planning on making, and how much cannabis were you planning to use??

I first thought, "How can you make a cannarecipe out of macaroni and cheese?" But then I read that you'll be putting the cannabis into cheddar, cream, and butter, so it sounds like homemade recipe for it. I would say it would probably work just fine, but I can't picture tasting cannabis with my mac'n'cheese, ya know?

    Good luck, though!

Iā??m a big guy, so Iā??d probably use somewhere between 2gā??s and 3.5gā??s of AAA per dose.

Instead of eating a couple brownies, cookies or firecrackers- Iā??d like to be able to sit down and eat a meal.

I guess what Iā??m really asking is: If done right, will 3gā??s cooked in a big bowl of mac nā?? cheese get me as high has 3gā??s in a couple firecrackers?

Does cooked bud really taste that bad? Iā??ve only ever tasted weed once and it was raw. I had just picked up a 1/8 and got pulled over on the way home. I was paranoid and ate it really fast. I donā??t really remember it having much of a taste at all. Iā??ve heard people say it tastes kind of ā??earthyā??. Donā??t know what that means. lol. I guess I could always simmer it in the butter and cream and then strain the plant matter out. Part of me would feel like Iā??d be wasting it though. If I didnā??t want to bother with straining plant matter out, do you think hash might be a better option? Anyone here ever cook with budder?

    Thanks!

Well, I've made some cannabutter before which I used with a fetticini pasta mix and it was amazing, and it was the first time I'd ever felt the effects of cannabis through oral ingestion, and firecracker before, and brownies before; the only one that didn't have a weed taste with was the brownies. Even the fetticini had that taste to it. I used good weed, so the food tasted like the weed smelled. It was hard to get the firecrackers down due to that.

And, if you're using 3 grams of some chronic or middies you should be good. I'm a big boy as well, (6'0, 240) and I used an 1/8th of some high middies every time I cooked and I felt the effects on every occasion but the brownies.

See, cooking with cannabis works better if you're using sweets, because the sugar takes the taste of the cannabis out completely. You can use the mac'n'cheese thing, but don't be surprised if you have to FORCE the food down your mouth.

Wow the taste is really that bad huh, I had no idea. I guess it wouldn't really be suited for this recipe then. I think I'll try the recipe with hash instead of nugs.

Thanks for all the great info!

    BTW, I like your sig.

i dont see why ppl say that the weed tastes bad, one way i did this was to heat up the weed in an airtight tinfoil pouch for about a minute on each side then put the weed on toast with peanut butter. it tasted pretty damn good to me. just make sure the weed is finely ground:jointsmile:
