Can anyone tell me EXACTLY what i need to get XBox live up and running?

i have a motorola cable modem but it does not have wireless capability and my room is on the second floor with the computer on the first floor

could i just get a second cable modem to put in my room and just hook that modem up to my XBox360 and to a cable outlet in the wall?
