In my experience the bud loses 80% while drying.

Ya, I think it's between 50-75% depending on how dry the plants are when you harvest. If they are in soil I usually wont water them for a few days to a week before the chop to let them lose some water weight...they will also dry a bit faster this way.

If you cut a plant and let it dry with all its leaves in tact you will notice visibly how much is shrinks and wrinkles up. Its best to cut a plant when you are due for your next watering, so instead of that watering you will be harvesting.

You don't know what you are talking about. Please stfu.

I am asking nicely because this is the first thread I have responded to in 3 days and I have a little patience left. If you have any questions as to how popular you are going to make yourself parroting (inaccurately btw) stuff you've read on the internet, CLICK HERE.... http://boards.cannabis.com/grow-loun...ml#post1508133

There is a certain amount of water weight in the bud.
Speed of drying has nothing to do with how much weight you lose before you hit the 'sweet spot' of dry enough not to mold, but not so dry that it becomes crumbly shit.
You want to dry to 50% weight, enjoy your moldy bud and subsequent bronchial infections!!!
