for me.usually when its over its over. I'm usually pretty pissed off thats its over mostly because I don't love that person anymore and alot of it was due to natural reasons. I've accepted it and I'm moving on.
But I can see how someone would wanna stay in a relationship like that, people are afraid of change, they are very comfortable with this person and although they may not love them the same way as you started off with, a part of you still does love them and not wanna let go.

Example trying to convince yourself you love someone, but you know deep down inside you have lost all connection with this person. Or staying in a relationship that ended years ago, you just stay because its all you know. But when you around this person you try to act like every things ok but you know deep down your rotting.
