    Backyard Growing

I'm thinking about putting about ten to twelve pots out there in my backyard. Thing is, I share a walls with neighbors to both sides of my house. Good idea or bad idea. Any precausions I can take? or scratch the project.

I've heard there are things I can put in the potting mixture to reduce the pugnant odor. Also, how smelly do the things get? I dont have a good sense of smell and I dont think I've ever found a plant to be really odorous...

    Advice?

how much weed do you need? would you be starting inside then moving them outside? little late to start seeds in most places. Do you grow anything else outside?

start with why, then how, then begin

well its really up to you. do YOU think you can garden safley in your back yard. we dont know your backyard situation, your neighbors, friends coming over......whatever it may be. if you think you can do it without getting caught then go for it.

NLxC99 has almost no odor, even on indoor grows, odor control isn't needed. Every year I start a fall garden outside, from my spring plant clones, and/or seeds. Yield is much smaller but you also dont have to deal with eight to ten foot plants peeking over a six foot fence. I know some people in my region (deep south) who only start very late simply because of the limited growth. It is however, later in the calendar year before natural flowering begins for us, as compaired to folks way north of us.

I say, 'go for it'. You might want to be a bit less ambitous with your number of plants until you have a clear understanding of exactly how much traffic you have in your backyard. It can get freaky trying to camouflage plants in creative ways... Good luck, B

essnine, I'm in the exact same situation. I plan on a dozen plants grown up to 5ft(lower than fence) and a couple of pounds.

Thinking of growing Cali-o, Afghani and Skunk#1 and maybe Bogglegum.

For security you can trim the tips off the leaves, so the uneducated won't recognise it as a mj plant, you can use a fish mix fertiliser/supplement and garlic pest spray to mask most of the smell also..
