I won't deny that it's fun to get high with friends, but I prefer to smoke alone. When I'm with friends, it always feels like a sketchy situation - either you feel like you're being judged for something, or someone gets pissed off at someone else for doing something stupid, or someone's being a leech, or whatever... I much prefer to just burn a fat bowl by myself and go for a walk, listen to music, watch a movie, and just relax and enjoy myself.
