House of the Virgin Mary
I'd be what you call a lpased catholic, or even a choosy one, some things I agree with others not so much, but Ive always prayed to Our Lady. ANyways, heard about this house in Turkey in a place called Epheus, or Efes. St John brought Our Lady there, from Jerusalam when Christ was crucified.
She supposedly spent her last days there, dying at age 65.
Its up a mountain called Nigthingale Mountain, few years ago, the pine trees that run up the mountain all caught fire, brush fire, but the fire stopped at the house.
Id been really looking forward to going, and while driving up the mountain I got very excited, and emotional, I really felt like I was kind of going home, in a way. When we got into the grounds, as I started walking toward the house, I just lost it, I cried all the way into her house which is now a small chapel, my mother was in floods also. We went in said our prayers, next thing my son who is 21, and not especially religious, he stated crying too, they were kindof happy tears we were all crying though. I cant really explain it very well, to me I just knew I didnt want to leave the place. I really didnt, I said to my mam and kids, Id be happy to stay her forever.I felt safe, deeply loved and forgiven up there. I will never ever forget that place. When I go back to Turkey again, it will be first on my list.
I knew I was walking were Our Lady walked ... special feeling.

Just to come to think of the fact that someone who is actually close to GOD lived and walked on that very same ground you visited.....I imagine words could not explain...

Theres also a spring which runs through, and the water is drinkable and they say has healing properties.
As a last resting place, there could be no better.I really cant wait to visit it again.Which is suprising me in a way, usually when Ive seen something, Ive seen it.But I very much want to go back here.

Cheers Bud! Im still feeling the buzz from it, Ive been feeling peaceful since I got back, but I expected to crash and get cranky again, but so far so good.
Everyday in my mind I go back to it, its a lovely feeling, remembering being there again.
Its so nice to have one really good wholesome pure experience in your life, and this is mine.Im very glad I got the chance, Turkey was not first on my list ( no offence) but now, I feel thats maybe big part of why I did go.
Wow, get me,I'll start scaring folks soon, LOL

that must have been absolutely amazing for you rastagal! thats it, im putting Turkey on my list of places i must visit in the next 2 years! i can only imagine the feeling but i would love to experience it.
my parents have been to Mejegoria (im a terrible speller) and they said climbing the mountain at 6am gave them the most amazing feeling, when they reached the top for a mass and rosary they said they just didnt want to come back down.
