useing filtered rain water for UR plants.

ok. so it has been raining like a mofo for days at my place and I wanted to collect some rain water.
so I collected a ice chest full of rain water.
and I am now filtering some of the rain water with a home filtering water pitcher.
and Im gunna fill the filtered rain water in some plain water bottles.

my qustion is will the filtered water be ok to use on my plants.
cus of so then it would be a hell of a lot cheaper than buying water from the store.

and I have collected enought water for almost 3-4 weeks.
thats how much rain water that filled up in the ice chest.

UR knowledge on this would great. thanks HC.

This Rain water fell from the Sky? It must be a gift from God then. He must have sent it down to you just to grow plants with I would think.

Just make sure you did not collect it from a run off drain from a Street or parking lot.

no no. I most definitely collected the rain water from the open SKY.
and I wanted to use it.

so is it good enough to use.

lots(well maybe not lots) of people do this, because the rain is about as clean as natural water can be. no minerals and salts and things from the soil or chemicals and stuff from city water. unless you live in a terribly polluted city.

I'm not a big fan of using rain water, simply because it has usually run down dirty, petroleum-based, roofing shingles, thru dirty gutters, and simply put, has been exposed to the elements, maybe TOO much (rain, is, after all, nature's way of cleaning the air) ... rotting leaves, etc., all contribute their own ingredients to the mix, some good, some not so good ... if you have a collection system that keeps it clean, I guess you would be OK ... basically, rain water is 'naturally' distilled water, which then picks up contaminants as it falls ('washing' our air for us, absorbing contaminants) ... of course, Mother Nature drinks it, so I guess it can't be TOO bad (but, rumor has it, she will drink 'anything') ... :smokin:

i use rain water. but why are you filtering it? i could see filtering it if little twigs and leaves got in your ice chest. j/w
