Will you donate your organs when you die?

Personally I'll donate anything they can take from my body, anything to help out many fellow human beings. I mean think of all the death and suffering you can prevent simply by having a donor card! Yet for some sad reason, I just saw a news report that said something like only 18% of people are organ donors. That just seems really sad to me when organs are in such demand.

When I was in grade 12 my english class had a discussion about it. There were about 30 students in the class, and when we voted who would donate their organs only me and about 6 other people put up their hands. The only reason others gave for not donating was "I just don't like the idea, ya know. I wanna be whole when the burry me". I mean JEBUS FRICKIN CHRIST, how selfish can you get? Condemning several people to death or shortened lives because "I don't like the idea, I wanna be burred whole". If you have religious or other relevant reasons, that's cool, but I would hope at least my stoner friends here would be more concious about the subject.

So any opinions on the matter? Who's donating what?

Sure, why not sort of keep living vicariously through someone else?

I'd donate my organs probably, but not sure yet. I want to be straight up burried in the ground I think. Give life to some plants.....

I will absolutely donate whatever they need, if I haven't ruined them ( I'm pretty sure my lungs are out!) When my mom passed away, we donated all her organs. I found out that also meant her skin! I guess they use it for burn victims and stuff, but that creeped me out a little bit. Kind of weird to think I could walk next to someone or meet someone with my moms skin on! Oh, well!

Obviously nobody here will be giving their lungs... :bonghit:... but I do wish to donate my body to science. I might be up for organ transplant but I would more prefer donating myself for research purposes, like for instance I wouldn't mind donating stem cells (which can be extracted from cadavers up to three days after death).

You don't have to worry about it, the professionals can figure out what's good for use and what's not. Even if the organs can't be transplanted, I'm sure they could use it for research of harvest stemcells or something.

Do you believe you pass on to the next world retaining your physical form? I'm not going to argue, believe whatever you want, I'm just curious.

no one knows where you go or what happens but I was raised to belive that when you die you will leave to the next world as yourself
im not really sure why but in my family it was always considered a terrible thing to remove anything from the body after death
