dark or light?

just wondering because i just got 2 seeds to sprout they are in paper towel and in a bag and im wondering if it is better to keep them in a dark area where they were or to put them by my window, or 50/50????:wtf:

shade until the leaves show. then 24 hours of 'cool white' flourescent lighting. or 18 on 6 off, whichever.

meh, that's what I'm here for. check out the grow logs too because you can get a feel for other peoples' learning processes too.
