Elizabeth Edwards said she did not consult her husband before confronting Coulter on the air, adding that she felt the pundit's remarks were â??a dialogue on hatefulness and ugliness.â?�

â??It debases political dialogue,â?� Edwards said. â??It drives people away from the process. We can't have a debate about issues if you're using this kind of language.â?�

Coulter responded with a laugh, and charged that Edwards was calling on her to stop speaking altogether. She questioned why Elizabeth Edwards was making a phone call on behalf of her husband, and criticized John Edwards for â??stealing doctors' moneyâ?� during his successful career as a trial lawyer.

I found it so rediculous when coulter responded with "well there you have it, she wants me not to talk". NO, she wants you not to insult her husband like a vindictive bitch, or is that her only definition of "talk"? That woman acts like such an idiot, stubbornly clinging to this idea that if any free speach is allowed, you should throw all social courtesy and professionalism out the window.

I don't like Edwards.....I don't think his wife did him any favors by confronting Colter....BUT I also think Ann was WAY out of line by making a death wish statement!! If someone made a comment about Bush or Cheney she'd be going through the roof.

She made a comment on Fox one night that the more controversial statements she makes the more her books sell........and that's the beauty of our right wing Christians.

I can't disagree with you medicinal, but remember what puts us above her, what we dislike her for in the first place, is the fact that she flings petty insults rather than making intellectual arguments and showing at least minimal respect for ones opponent.
