If there was an election it wouldn't make any difference as Labour would get straight back in. The Conservatives are similar to where labour were in 80s and 90s, split (as a party) on most issues, bereft of ideas on policies and have no clear manifesto. They offer little or no effective opposition as shadow government, so are in no fit state to govern, the absolute best they could hope for would be a hung parliament, which nobody wants.
