the reason the jar wasn't hidden was because it was under a hat on the table and we turned lights off and put away the bong and just didn't touch the pot assuming there was no way the cops were getting in in the first place(shoulda grabbed it in hindsight though, shouldn't have rushed) to check under a hat, for a jar of pot. like a jelly mason jar, not a big ol jar like someone said. wasn't a whole lot of the pot left to finish curing, haa.

Cops come knockin (claiming noise violation, they never identified themselves or said anything, just loud knocking. I didn't find out that was why they were there till later) . We don't answer due to all the illegal shit in the apt. and the inevitability of them barging in past whatever non-consent phrases we throw at them.
