if your going to be using soil as a medium pipe some cold air in the flower room the last three weeks that will give you darker colors in most strains. do not keep the temps low the entire time but reduce them into the upper forties then back up to 70ish. or you can buy nutrients to do the same from humbolt county

ITS NOT ALWAYS EASY TO FIND COULD AIR IN THE SUMMER

portable a/c units ..... chillers.....flex duct from an existing ductwork hooked up to your existing furnace and ac unit. a fan blowing over a metal bowl of icewater and rocksalt.......how easy is that!!!!!!!!!.....i could go on but that would be too EASY , and i am a lazy american.

yeag is right- cold air around teh LEAVES is what you want, not cold ROOTS. Cold roots are NOT good; they uptake nutrients more slowly and even at the end of flower you will be cheating yourself out of some yield.

I'd crank your AC down to 55-60 for the last week or two if you want to maximize purps. Also 'Purple Maxx' from the emerald triangle fert co. is intended to bring out fall foliage colors. But if the strain has no genetic predisposition towards purple, you're fooked. Ice has it though I am pretty sure.

All the good outdoor growers I've met, say they leave a portion of thier crop out until the frost starts hitting to turn buds purple. I've seen people waste extra money on the stuff because they think it's better, and mother fuckers captalize on thier lack of knowlege. Such a shame.
It is pretty looking pot though, and it smokes just like green.
I just remembered something, a few years ago There was an abundance of this super beautiful, wonderful tasting(a little rough on the throat), mostly purple, but red, blue, green, and orange were all there pot was floating around my group of friends in Humboldt. We noticed that this shit would literally sparkle when it burned. After talking through the dude we got it from, it was determined that the grower used a super load of phosphorus to bring out the colors, which we also blamed it for the firework burning effect.
It's food for thought.
