How do you guys feel about executing people who are retarded.... Personally I feel that if someone commits a crime worthy of execution be they mentally retarded or not they should be killed... the fact that someone is retarded doesn't change the fact that they killed someone... you do the crime you do the time/execution weither you be retarded or not. The diff is they arent as supervised and the innocent people that are in there for things such as depression or bipolar schizos whatever arent protected from serial rapists that are put in there believe me i know cause i had a serial rapist break into my room with a knife in the middle of the night while i was there.There was supposed to be security in the corridor outside my room.I know it happens in jail too but it just aint that easy to break into another persons cell.Anyways i met rapists and murderers in there and believe me they should be in prison getting done to them what they do to others.

If the mentally retarded person is stable enough to take care of themselves,and doesn't go around stabbing people, i think they should live.

There are alot of mentally retarded people in institutions, their family don't visit, they just keep paying room and board. If they don't the tax payers do.

Theres no real use for these people. Their either in an almost coma like state, are so medicated they couldn't respond if they wanted to, or are on the streets attacking people because they can't pay for their own medication. Better off dead i say.

Interesting topic. The question we have to answer is not whether the person has the mind of a certain age. The degree of intelligence varies, however, this is not really a question that deserves a moral answer. This type of question comes down to the LAWs of that country, city, or town and previous cases that have occured concerning these similar facts. We can share are opinions which can change outcomes but really in this type of situation, it really comes down to the judge and previous cases. I am unaware of any cases as this, Im sure there has been some. I'd be interested to know the outcomes and the facts of certain cases concerning these situations. We can change the laws. peace
