Trial run with... Tomatos?
I've heard before many times that tomatos are very close genetically to the marijuana plant and have the same basic times for the grow stage and flowering and stuff. Would it be a good idea for me to experiment and do a test run to see how my setup works with tomatoes before I try growing marijuana?

Playing pretend isn't much fun. Grow the real thing. You'll learn much more than growing another plant.
I'm planning on growing some tomatoes in the basement over the winter to appease wifey. It was part of the deal :/. I'm sure I can make room for some clones though.

Tomatoes are great practice and so are hot peppers. In fact, some of us have a bit of an obsession with the hot shit...
And bagseed is good practice too.
