I've met a number of gamers on forums that have seemingly lost interest in gaming as they got older and older. I find it strange because I've had a reverse feeling..

I know in my childhood I didn't have very many games. My parents bought me a NES and a few games here and there, but over the years as I'd build up any NES game collection, they'd get financial trouble and need to pawn my NES off. (which usually meant I had to wait for them to get me a new one later) I had a NES as my only gaming system from age 7 to age 15. At 15 I finally talked my mom into getting me a SNES for my birthday at a used gaming/music store(the N64 was already out) This was only a year before I'd start working and immediately bought a N64.

So as a child I played very little amounts of games even though I loved them. It wasn't till I started making my own money that my gaming started taking off and became a primary pasttime. My current height of gaming came this last generation. I owned all 4 of the this last gen consoles (PS2, Xbox, GCN, Dreamcast) And put in many thousands of hours of gaming in. (Phantasy Star Online alone has 3200+hours of game time invested in it)

My like of playing games is in no way diminished either. I look ahead now with my 26th birthday just a month and a half away and I see myself being a major gamer till the day I die. I just hope I never become that old person that no longer games because gaming changed so much I couldn't keep up with the times..like older people and Records/Cassettes, or like my mother and VHS tapes..she still buys them and prefers them... O_o
