There are different ways, the one I like (in my limited soil growing experience) is you water them when they need it, you can tell if they need it by sticking your finger about 1"-1 1/2" into the soil: if it sticks to your finger it has enough water, if it is dry and your finger comes out pretty much clean, then it is time to water, as for how much: not so much as to soak them, but you want the soil wet, I found that in 6 liter pots this usually took about 300-500ml of water, (1 1/2-2 cups US). But your not using the same soil as I was, if it runs out the bottom of the pot it was probably a bit too much water.

As for feeding, wait till the first set of leaves die (the small round ones) and then I would use 1/3-1/2 strength ferts like once every 7-10 days. There are many different theories and opinions about ferts, but this worked pretty good for me.

Good Luck
