i know, bro, and i aint trying to be disrespectful.. im just saying, sometimes prayers can do more harm than good.. when my grandad was in hospital with cancer, my mum used to pray every day that he would pull through.. she honestly believed that God wouldnt ignore her, that he would answer her prayers, and my granddad would make it.. unfortunately he didnt, and my mum was devistated, but mostly she was hurt because her prayers were ignored.. the rest of us, my family, had already accepted the fact that he wasnt going to make it, so his passing wasnt as hard, but it was hard for my mum because she believed her prayers would be answered? you see what im saying? sometimes praying can give people false hopes, and it takes them longer to grieve and to mourn, or to accept the inevitable.. now im NOT saying that this is whats going to happen, but you can see my point right? anyway, you can all flame me for saying that now, whatever

    Thanks, bro

Hey, I have faith, just not in God.. I guess I have faith in the innate goodness in people (though you dont see it very often), and I have faith in the perseverience of the human race.. But just not in God... Anyway, ima shut up, coz this thread isnt about what I believe in or not.. and who knows, maybe praying will help - I hope it does

Ammie, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I pray that a faith and a firm belief in Jesus Christ will be made real to you, to each member of your family - and that the Holy Spirit will touch that child with His loving, healing spirit, touch the heart of that baby boys' mother today, and will make himself clearly seen to each individual reader of your request for prayers. I pray in Jesus' name. Amen.

Prayers dont work.. just be there for the person, instead of wasting energy praying
I just wanted to say that the power of prayer is very real to a believer. Prayers made in unbelief are not heard. Moreover, effective prayer does not consist of requesting flower-strewn paths our whole lives through, or a release from death. Faithful, meaningful prayer is simply asking Christ to make Himself real in your heart, and He will.

Now, you and me are much alike, G/T. One does not have to prove God is real to me. I am going to be an old man soon, despite my denial in that area (lol), likewise, my beliefs are simply not going to be changed, in spite of tragedy in my life that is unspeakable ~ I have witnessed the Holy Spirit at work in my life. This happened because I said in my heart, "Jesus, if you are real, come into my life"!...That's it! Nothing else! He will!

The problem we have with God, as human beings - if we will be totally honest with ourselves - is that we don't want to give up the sins in our lives. We all come short of pleasing God with our own works, therefore, provision of salvation, Jesus Christ, is Gods' mercy, love and grace.

I will never attempt to prove God is real to any of you, because if God is God, He can work in your heart for himself, He shouldnâ??t need selfish, pathetic, futile ME to make His case, right? Give it a try, please, G/T. You will see a change. Just TRY it!

Put your faith in the doctors Ammie, not God. They're the only ones who perform miracles.

Definitely put faith in doctors. God has given us men of high intelligence that care about these matters and that is how He operates and deals with us today, down here, as believers - through other people. Maybe reading my post entitled "Please help my dog" will help you, maybe not. An attitude of unbelief will necessarily result in the negations it is comprised of made manifest in your disposition!!!!... Good Luck!
