Did anyone see that article about marijuana increases the chance of psycosis??? Where do these people get these studies... I know dozens of marijuana smokers and none of them are psycotic.... the media really pisses me off....

I believe most of the articles, at least the ones I have seen, indicate that if you are already susceptible to psychosis, i.e., history in family etc.. it can increase your risk of having psychosis.. Can't really create it out of thin air, but if it is in your genes can bring it out.

Yep, I have a friend who has a family history of scitzophrenia (sp), plus she's fucked herself all up by abusing pharmacy meds. If she smokes, she loses it, she hears and sees things. If she drinks alcohol she's even worse, like she sees ppl with decapitated heads that aren't there. Two Christmases ago she drank 2 Mudslides and swore a plane was coming to "rescue her".

shes sounds like the life of the party! on the other hand, after a while that kind of thing could become somewhat irritating. some people may never see the end of amusement, though. we're all special...some people just are more special can i have some pot now? i asked nicely.

Yes, she's completely out of control, she just freaks out. After the Mudslide incident, her hubby called the men in white coats. She was in the hospital for detox and then in the mental ward for a while longer. Now, she's completely sober and she's still sees trails. She's on anti-psychotics and doesn't even drink coffee because of tremors. She used to pop pills, steal pills, whatever she could do to get pills, and now she's paying the price. She has to be on the anti-psychotics, even though she's an addict because she freaks out.

i agree.... if it is already there, but not noticable, weed will bring it out, same with all drugs i think...

a good friend of mine is skitzo, he smokes weed everyday it helps him hella. But he don't drink or fry balls cuz he goes crazy. I think most of us were psycotic before we started smokin
