Bad bad move. Never let the cops search your car. Cops do not have the right to go through your stuff without permission or probable cause.....that's why they ask if they can search your property most of the time, because they know they can't without permission.

The next mistake was confession. You admitted to having possesion of marijuana when they threatened to take you all to jail. How could they charge and take everyone to jail for a bowl of weed?

They didn't take you to jail because they it was only a bowl. They tried to squeeze information out of you as soon as they seen you open up.

They had probable cause, someone reported them smoking.

You'll probably get a year's worth of probation or so. It wasn't a serious charge. You might get more though if they find out you were lying about the dealer.

i got 6 months probation, had to take 4 drug classes, $150 fine, and 24 hrs community service

this was for a paraphenelia citation. which sounds like what you got, not arrested. you'll be ok. you can also get your record expunged once probation is up. just dont fuck up.

Everybody thinks that you can say no to a cop when they ask to search your car. They think if you say no that the cop just walks away. They call the dogs and then detain you and your car until the K9s arrive. The dog will sniff around, find a seed or a tiny piece of bud then bark and sit and then they have every right to rip your car apart in a search.

The police did have probable cause, the smell of MJ is probable cause. The phone call and description was probable cause. You say no and then they find something you are going to jail son.
