Why does everyone hate metal?

Deftones are pretty metal if you ask me, although they may have mellowed down a bit on the last album, they can still crank some out.... S.O.A.D. is definately metal, not alternative their style may be different but it's still metal

well i just want to say ...place genra of music here... is all i listen to, its just so good. i love the ....music sounds.... and the ...voices...., some of the best are, ...name of band... ...name of band.. name of band... and name of band..... but ....place genra of music here... sucks ass. idont know how u can listen to that crap

I would class System as metal aswell although a lot of people stick labels on them like nu-metal which I cant even begin to understand. I try to introduce all my friends to them, they have some very trippy parts in their songs.

i just dont like it. i dont like the sound of cookie monster on the microphone. rap gets trashed because mainstream is all about the same few categories, yet the majority of metal songs have dark meanings to them. and the guitar seems to be more focused on showing how technical and fast you can play, w/o playing something that actually sounds good.

my older brother is into all sorts of grindcore and metal bands(in flames, opeth, falkkenbach(sp???), KSE, trivium), and it's just not my thing.

metal just isnt really that chill, its pretty tight when i wanna get into listenin to some heavy music but when i just feel like chillin metal is kinda a buzzkill

I dont know about Deftones but i think System is metal..Metal is such a broad genre..
