Feelings on new Metallica album

What are your feelings on the next Metallica album? Supposedly they are going further back to a thrash sound, like Master of Puppets.

I myself have been greatly disheartend since the release of the black album . I don't think anythings gonna change real soon either . :wtf3:

i can only watch the first one, and when i watched it i was likin the sound, but, it just sounded different...more like slayer is a way to describe it? :wtf: and then i heard the singing...and i threw up a little in my mouth

Yeah...what the fuck happened to James??? His voice definitely can't handle this shit anymore. If this is any indication of what the entire album is gonna sound like, then there's another Metallica album I won't be buying.

me too, Crispi. I tried to like it, I really did, and theres a couple decent songs on it but after that album came out ya knew it was the end (they've drawn it out into quite the slow painful death tho, havent they?)

I didn't hate their Bob Seger cover and I kinda liked that song that had Marianne Faithful singing on it.

I like the beginning. It sounds a lot like early Metallica, I can hear Kill Em All, Master of Puppets, Justice for All, and even a bit of a Slayer, Anthrax and Megadeth influence. It's raw and they are tight, the first song is typically complicated and have that early Metallica signature, but Hetfeld's voice is rough. I found his singing quite grating from the black album onwards.

The second song reminds me of Motorbreath, the track from Kill Em All, and the band Motorhead. It's not anything special.

I like the new logo with the "etalicc" missing from the middle.

That's my review of the Retrotallica cover band.

I never even bothered listening to st anger properly and I doubt I will go mad for this album either. James should go back to starting his day with a bowl of cornflakes with vodka instead of milk. They said how much metallica used to be dicks to other, st anger was gonna rock because of rehabs and that they all loved each other now. Well it didnt so no more betty fords please!

The first song is called "Death is not the End", can't remember where I heard it at the moment (smoked a fat doob yay!:stoned, but I'm pretty sure that's correct. The second song really surprised me as it sounded like something from Kill 'em All, very good IMO and will sound much better on a properly produced album of course. But I also agree with you guys, James can't seem to do angry metal vocals anymore.

It seems that old age is taking its toll upon them all... James voice is not the same... the sound resembles metallica, but not the old metallica we know...
For me Metallica lost its appeal after the black album.
Anyway, this album may be far better than st. anger (what is not a very difficult thing )
