This is a weird question but I am currently running an AMD Athlon 3000+. The man at the store says this means it's a 2.3ghz but runs at 3.0ghz. Is this correct anyone??

No, it runs at 2.3Ghz, the reasons its called a 3000+ because its (in theory) faster than intels equlivant chip.
Syrus has left these boards for ever, syrus can now be found at baked.com if needed.

    bye everyone

You can overclock it to 3Ghz, but you'd probably want to buy a better fan/heatsink
