eta could go any day now or in a thousand years but not longer than that. if this thing goes off it will be brighter than the moon
. be glad its not pointed towards us or it could kill all life on earth.

It would be so awesome if it's went off soon enough for us to see it during our lifetimes. The light we see from it now is at least 7000 years old and as we see it now, it's estimated to only have from 1 day to 1000 years left. Which mean it's already went off at some point in the last 7000 years.
And hey if the scientists were wrong about it not being aimed at us, right now a deadly beam of gamma radiation could be getting ready to decimate us at any moment.
