If you freeze the sample, it will be good for up to a year...

do you mean that you are using urine from your child that is 7 years old? I hope you don't mean that u are gonna use urine that has been frozen for 7 years. If it is the first then urine is good for a couple days in the frig in a tightly sealed container and 1 year in the freezer in a tightly sealed container.
