I took adderall for almost three years, so I guess I'm qualified to answer your questions. It does help with school, as long as you take the normal perscribed doses. It does raise your blood pressure and heart beat, so thats probably why your face was flushed. 20 mgs is a good dose for school, but if you take too much you will forget the things you think you are learning. After a while of using it as it was perscribed i decided i wanted a buzz, and thats when i started to abuse it. BAD IDEA. You can become very tolerant to this if you use too much for too long a time. Personally i recomend the non XR kind, because the XR tends to keep me up all night and it takes longer to kick in. Just before i quit, my average dose would be around 40-60 mgs (sometimes more) several times a day,(not every day.) and by then my tolerance was so high that it felt more like 20 mgs. Now when you first start using adderall (speed) the emotional feelings are almost always good(except for ocassional paranoia), but If you take it for too long like i did, it can take a darker turn. I would get really really really pissed over the slightest little thing, and i kept getting in fights at school. Also when i first started taking it i made many new friends due to the energetic personality change and ego boost , but in the end i ended up losing almost all my friends due to my pissy attitude and many freakouts. However, my dad was on adderall also, and even though he abused it, he managed to enjoy it the whole time he was on it, he never had any freak outs or anything. (he's a pretty mellow guy.) My advice is, If you think you can handle it, go ahead and take it occasionally, but just dont over do it or it'll turn into a nightmare.

doesn't anyone snort drugs anymore...not that im saying you should just be aware that there is more than one way to take it although it is far far worse for you snorting it but i do like it more than takeing it oraly,but is you do snort it(don't)only 5 mg or less

ooh thank you everyone these past few responses have been really informative. since i started this thread ive taken adderall a few more times.. mostly snorted it.. i love it.. and i think that the weed kicks up the buzz. the reason i like it is because of what edgar mentioned - the energy/ego boost helps me make friends and tolerate people a lot easier than i normally can (usually im pretty anti social and lonely.. just because i dont know how to talk or what to say.. very shy).. it helps to bring me out of my shell, in other words.

i am still aware, though.. that.. like any drug (except mary jane :X) its good from time to time but i cant go making it a habit. i have hard enough time supporting my one habit already.

your life and all, but my 2 cents (pennys) are that its not wise to take a drug to help you perform or concentrate better at school or whatever. Or you end up needing it or you cant concenytrate at all. But using recreationally is cool.

Thats cool, but just to let you know, adderall isn't well absorbed when you snort it unless you freebase it first. Its just not made for your nose, its got a bunch of extra fillers and stuff.

i got put on strattera... 60mgs, which isnt a stimulant so it doesnt interfere at all with smoking. I've never heard any 1 say they feel loving feelings while on adderall, or any thing of the sort.. so maybe u took an e
