What I wonder is... do you really need so many megapixels?

You might be able to save some money by getting a trimmed down version that would suit your needs just as well. But then again you might want to print out huge poster-size cannabis pictures for your bedroom or something..

Good choice I've used a few canons over the years non digital slr's, we use an olympus digital but we are looking to upgrade soon, let us know how you get on with it especially in the macro mode.
I see Jessops are closing 80 stores, thankfully our local isn't one of them,Yet!.

You have fun with your phone I'd take a real camera.

I've had nothing but positive things to save about Cannon Cameras even though I have a year old 6 mega pixel currently. I just wish they had better optical zooms which would make macro-ing just that much sweeter.
An example of what can be done even though the picture was technically out of focus.
