I'm sure y'all gave a picture of him to the police, right? And will you or they alert the media in Chicago or wherever he was last seen? That has a way of helping turn people up fairly quickly. We have Alzheimer's patients go missing here in the Dallas-Forth Worth area practically weekly, and frequently they're travelers coming through the DFW airport. When the news stations pick the story up and show a good picture of the person, they nearly always turn up pretty quickly. The last one from two weeks ago was located at a Denny's near the airport, having coffee and breakfast. They had no idea how she found her way there since the airport's huge and she didn't have a car.
