    SAVE THE WORLD!

Hello everybody, and welcome to my new thread of the day!

Today, I want to talk about saving the world.
On the face of it, saving the world seems like a daunting prospect indeed; it's so big, and I am just one person! But, it might not be as huge a problem as you might think.

Now, I'm not your actual tree-hugging womble, but I am concerned about the amount of uneccessary waste that we humans produce, and I am slightly worried that Earth is going to implode anytime soon.
Also, I must admit that I am a classic 'armchair-politian' - or, lazy bastard, if you prefer - you'll rarely find me posting different coloured bottles into their respective bins, at your local recycling centre....bring the bin to me, and we may be able to do business, know what I mean

On the subject of waste, I have begun to notice several things.
Firstly, there is alot of it.
I mean, when you buy something at the supermarket, have you ever noticed the amount of packaging involved in your purchase! You've got the outer layer that tells you what it is, then you've got an inner layer, that keeps the food fresh, which is individually wrapped, on a tray!
I only have a small ice-box as a freezer, but you'll be amazed at how much stuff I can get in there, once I've removed all the outer packaging.
    Then my bin is full!

The second problem I have noticed, is that we are running out of places to dump all this waste.

We seem to be wasting billions on creating waste - and billions on trying to get rid of it!

    Maintentaint, c'est bon...
Anyways, I would like to draw your attention to this website that I have discovered:
    http://www.wearewhatwedo.org

Quite simply, it shows ways of how doing very little, can achieve so much - always a bonus, in my book
(I don't call it 'laziness', I call it 'economy of movement' lol)

I'm still reading through some of the suggestions, but so far I am impressed.
Let me know what you lot think...

...who knows, maybe we can all start saving the world...and ourselves...

    SAVE THE WORLD!

As a post script to the above:

It's not just about saving energy and recycling, dudes...it's about changing our perception of eachother, too.

We're all in this together, aren't we?
We all just want to be happy, don't we?

Why do we believe that our happiness is such a dream?

    I'm gonna become a monk, I think!

    SAVE THE WORLD!

    *blushes*
I don't do any of it!
    lol
Well, except I don't use many lights in the house, and do prefer candlelight...but, that's mainly because I am usually in a dark mood lol
Just a state of perpetual mourning for the apathy of humanity, you know...nothing too serious
And I never litter the streets...always take my rubbish home, and deposit it in the bin.
I can't stand to see litter all about the place

But yeah, there's alot of stuff on there that I didn't realise, and stuff that I can do without even trying too hard

Like I said in my preamble, it seems like a fruitless task...but ya gotta start somewhere, init?

    Yay! Save the Planet!
    It's good for our health...
