so i cut the clone off at my friends house with a razor blade put it in soil left it in the sun for the remaining 20 minutes of dailight

mistake #1, freshly cut clones cannot tolerate direct sunlight. They have no roots to replace water lost through transpiration.

(didnt want my parents to see me take it in my house).

Dude, no growing in the 'rents house without their permission. They feed you and give you a place to live and deserve a bit more respect than that.
