Bush eyes Blair for Mideast peace role

Compare this to previous wars and you'll see that with the precision bombing the civilian death toll is far less. During WW2 for example.....cities such as Bagdad would have been completely whiped out. Remember what Berlin looked like?

I know that in WW2 America completely missed germany once and and razed a 2000 year Dutch city to the ground by mistake.

As wars become less centred around ground troops and more around fighter jets the civilian death toll has risen dramatically.

Very true........but you have to admitt that the civilian death toll dropped due to precision bombing.

I'm not actually a Blair lover, although after living under the conservatives for 18 years, he was a breathe of fresh air back in the late 90's, but i have to say he's probably the right man for the job. He's the perfect diplomat and is a good communicator. Already has hands on experience in the Middle East peace process and helped broker an Historic peace deal in Northern Ireland and let's face it up until Iraq was one of the most popular prime ministers this country has ever had, confirmed by back to back landslide election victories Some of you will choke on my next statement but i also think he is a man of high integrity and truly believes that his support for the Bush administrations 'war on terror' is Right and for our best interests. I'm not banging the drum for Blair here but having lived through the 'Maggie' era i think he is demonised a bit. Now she was a proper B"*TARD and gave me my socialist, (small s), angle on life.So for me yeah ! why not Blair for Middle East peace envoy, it'ill keep him out of the country lol ...don't all shout at once.

Shout? I can't even talk I'm so out of breath from laughing. Yeah, Blair was doing alright up until the war in Iraq, now everyone hates him, especially all the families in Iraq who lost relatives. Once we all realised how much of a Bush sucking two faced lying warmongering capitalist dastard he was...

Don't see ya posting in these parts much but your more than welcome to frequent more often. I agree with ya 100%! He recognizes the fact that there are bad people out there and is willing to stand up for what is NOW an unpopular stance.

Blair done his bit in the peace prosses and his backing of the iraq war isnt a problem to me the usa are our allies and they ask for help we should be behind their backs no questions simple as that. for me it was his treating of the royal family especialy the queen after the death of prinsess diana.A lot of brits wont agree with me hear but im a total loyalist im a jock and proud of it but at the end of the day its our queen and he disrespected her badly , he even new this himself and did appoligies but the bad intensoin was there . what some politicians seem to forget she is our queen and thats that and we should show respect weather we want to or not hge would have been hung for that 200 years ago.

Read Captive State by George Monbiot. It is a captivating read on how Blair is selling our public sector off to American capitalists, and of how we stand to lose through failing services and stealth taxes.
