I would recommend it after what I've had to watch happen with my plants. I keep mine outdoors and its been very calm wind wise the frist month of growth. The more aggressive growing ladies have had issues falling over. Thankfully all have righted themselves and seem to be stronger for it now. But had there been more of a breeze during the days this last month I doubt it would of ever been an issue.

Are fans necessary, I'm sure you need them to help keep the temps right or air circulating in a box, but do they really help grow thicker stalks. Temps and humidity aren't a problem for me.
