Where's the best place to live in the world?

I will be turning 18 in a couple months and I have one year left of high school. At this point I really don't know what I'm going to do in a year. There aren't any college programs that really interest me and I definitely don't want to go into the military.

So basically what I want to know is what is the best place to live? It would need to be a place with a relatively low cost of living, a friendly open-minded artistic culture, and preferably have marijuana decriminalized or unenforced.

I haven't traveled outside of the midwest states yet so it's hard for me to think of moving somewhere else, but Amsterdam and San Fransisco are both ideas I've had. One of my friends visited Haight-Ashburry and made it sound like an amazing place.

Anyone have any other ideas of places that I should consider living some day?

Dude, San Fran is like the most expensive place in the universe.

Go to college, if you can, and study something that will bring you the $$$ to afford you the opportunity to be your own boss some day.

Otherwise, find a friend and move to Orlando. The jobs are crappy but there are allot of them.
You won't starve to death and maybe you'll find what you're looking for. There are allot of cute girls, also.

If you like video & music production, Full Sail is a world class school for it.

I've heard of Full Sail and I thought about going there for music production, but then I changed my mind to McNally Smith in St. Paul because it's closer to home, but I don't think that the music business is going to be a good career in the future since music sales are going down and recording equipment is getting cheaper so bands will just produce and sell their own music I think.

I'll probably end up going to a college in state unless I hear about a better place to go. I can always transfer to a different school later.

I have an average GPA (2.5ish) and ACT score (23) and my parents have some money set aside to help me out with college, but it feels like I'm going to be wasting the best years of my life studying and working and those are the two things I dislike the most. I just want to feel like I'm a part of something big.

The peak of Mount Katahdin in Maine, USA is the first place in the entire country to see the sun in the morning.

Before I die, I need to camp on the top of that mountain one night into the next morning.
