smoking under a blanket

This strikes me as a funny technique. You smoke under a blanket to mask the smell. But do you really think you're going to be keeping anything secret from the person who launders the blanket? Perhaps it doesn't ever get washed.

i launder the blanket for that very reason

i don't know what's so hard about putting some detergent in and pressing "on" but i suppose that's pushing it for some

i did smoke under my blanket before and it seemed to cover up the smell a little. but why not just get your lazy self out of the bed and go outside real quick to toke? lol

i never got this. they arent airtight or anything.

you could blow your hits into a plastic bag or a jar or something hah.

but no, if your smoking something then i think that the smoke being around you is far less to worry about than it being densely packed into your lungs. i think you may live!

the only harmful thinng i could think of is that when you exhale youre producing carbon monoxide..so that could be an issue..but only if we were dealing with an airtight environment. a blanket is a permeable membrane, therefore allowing air to move freely in and out. youre fine.

It's not a stereotype, Jdub. I was being facetious about my own son, who is the only 21-year-old college senior I know who has managed to avoid doing laundry for his entire college career, either when he's away at school or when he's home. At school, he either spends money to have someone else do it for him, or he sweet-talks one of his friends' mothers who lives closer to the university or one of his ladyfriends. At home, he defies our agreement that he must do his own wash and he lets it pile up until it becomes a health hazard. I learned a month ago that he was trying to slip our housekeeper money under the table to do his laundry for him. When I caught onto (and shot down) that plan, I learned from my mother that he'd approached her about the task.

We're having a laundry showdown. If I have to send him back to school with an 18-wheeler full of filthy clothes, underwear, bedding and towels, I'll do it. I'm going to win this one.

I meant what I said about being thrilled to hear of familiarity with the "laundry arts." It gives me hope.

I would NOT smoke in, around, on, over......any preposition, including a bed with fire, matches. FUCK that, I watched my little cousin almost die, he was playing with matches, in bed, caught his bed and shirt on fire... you know the old polyester ones..and it stuck to him; it was terrible.

I even get nervous in an apt. around me, they are going to fall asleep with a smoke in there hand or something.

sheesh, you need to bend him over your knee and spank the hell out of him like old times, what a slob, this boy's wife sure ain't gonna take too kindly to that
i'll admit that folding laundry is my 2nd least favorite thing to do in life (cause it takes so damn long) but i'll be damned if i'm gonna let anybody do it for me, that's just embarrassing

I agree. I'll take the spanking idea under advisement. Problem is, he's 5 inches taller and 95 pounds heavier than I am. Actually, I think I can outlast him on the standoff. He likes having clean laundry and looking and smelling good. He just doesn't want to give in. (I have no idea where he got that stubborn streak.)

I hate to fold laundry, too. But I do it nonetheless. As I never fail to point out on the laundry issue: doing things that have to be done even when you hate them? Welcome to adulthood. Where life isn't fair. And you can't always pawn your chores off on someone else.
