Where to stay in Amsterdam?

This is for those of you who have been to the dam before.

Here's the deal, I'll be flying out Amsterdam after around 7 weeks of volunteer work in Europe. That gives me around 5 nights in and around A-dam. Now, I've been there once before for last years Cannabis Cup. I know where to smoke. What I don't know is where should I stay?

Does anyone have a favorite place or at least something they could recommend? Let me know, I probably need to book something in the near future.

Hello Bud.My good lady and i stayed at the Park Hotel near the vondelpark.Its not pretentious and the staff are good.Its nicely situated for all the sights and reasonably priced.Have a good stay bud.I know youve been before,but if you can,have some spacecake from Homegrown Fantasy,just a stones throw(very small one),from the station.Peace
