to harvest or not to harvest.. help!!!!
Ok I bought a magnifying glass and took a look at the trichs. About 60% of them have bulb tops and they are mostly cloudy. I am about 1/2 on the pistols turning from white to amber.
I will be leaving for an 11 day trip starting on Thursday. I was wondering.. do I pull before I leave or pull when I get home? I am starting to be concerned about having it outside as it stinks like all hell. It is one thing when I am home.. but not being home and having a fragarent back yard..
I don't want anyone to figure the house is empty and snagging my grow. I live in town-house style where all the houses are connected. Technically someone could walk across roof-tops and then use the stairs to access my back yard. Being home every day is one thing.. but 11 days away is a long time for the house to be empty.
Also how long would it take to go from early-done to past-done?? If I left them in the ground while I go on vacation, is 11 days too long?
And if I pull them now then I can't watch them while drying. Would 11 days be too long to be left drying if I make sure that it is a ventilated area? I figure hang drying in a room.
So what would you do?? Pull now or wait till I return? Also there is no one that I can have check on these things.Blondasian Reviewed by Blondasian on . to harvest or not to harvest.. help!!!! to harvest or not to harvest.. help!!!!
some pics would help, but from your other post i would say they could ripen a little more, but i would not leave them unattended for 11 or more days.
also 11 days is probably too long to leave them drying with out any attention. they may get too dry.

if you have a digital timer ( if you dont their pretty cheap) you could set it for longer than twelve hours on say 24hr on twelve off that way 11 days turn into 5 1/2. your babies dont care how long the day is for flowering just as long as their getting their 12 hrs of darkness. not only do you strech out the flowering cycle to cover your trip but your buds are also growing bigger while your gone. make sure ou have a little extra room incase the extra long days strech them a little. shouldnt happen though because their already in flowering.enjoy your trip and let me know how it goes!!!!

yeah.. its kinda hard to turn off the sun.. Or plug in a timer for it. lol
I think I am going to pull the morning I leave. I "tested" some and I like the way it smokes. It gives a up high that lasts for a couple hours. I'm not really in to couch-lock highs. I know 11 days is a long time for drying, but I think it will be ok.

dam girrrl. your plants look great. UR buds look great too.
yah I would probly harvest soon. cuz you said ppl might be able to see the plants while your gone and as for drying it would be fine cuz it takes about 2 weeks for most buds to dry anyway.
just make sure that the drying place you pick is well air'd out so they can dry with out getting mold.
thats how I have dry'd all of my (past) 11 grows.
Hoped this helped some.

to harvest or not to harvest.. help!!!!
Thanks.. long time ago I had a closet and I never had my closet grows turn out like these. The pic of the one on the paperclip was cut 2 days ago. I have it in the room that I plan to use for drying and it seems to be drying nicely. I think it will take 2 weeks for these things to dry fully. The buds are pretty thick and very dense.
I am going to hang everything from a clothes drying rack and start cutting today. It is supposed to rain tonight and I don't want the extra moisture.
I can hardly wait to try these properly dried and cured. I wish I had a scale. Anyhow I am going to start the process and will post more pics when I am done.

Well we went out and cut this morning. I layed them out on a clothes drying rack in one of my spare rooms. Here are the pics. The room is fairly large so it gets a good amount of air flow. I wish I had a scale to weigh this stuff.
