I don't use the playlists unless I want to set up a custom mix. Otherwise you just need to make sure the artist and song name are in there, and it all takes care of itself; you just go through "music", then "artists".

Personally though I'm never buying an ipod again. Much as I love my Ipod mini, I've had it replaced 3 times under warranty and every replacement had the same problem; battery keeps randomly cutting out (fully charged or not) then you can turn it back on, wait 30 seconds, and it's suddenly full again. It turns off if I run or even walk to hard with it, and now the volume has gone incredibly low for any music I take from a CD rather than a download, in which case I have to turn it all the way to the top just to get decent sound.

Honestly, what's the point of a warranty if you just replace one broken item with another? There should just be a guaranteed return option, full money back, if the replacement can't even hold up.
