Back every generation people had to spend more time working to survive, there was less time to think about yourself. Not to say greed and selfishness didn't exist, but according to what is interpreted by history, there was more respect and honor for others. As humans got more technologically advanced, humans became more self-absorbed and disconnected.

Now that people don't work to survive, we have more time to entertain ourselves. Most of us don't have to work in a field to produce food, or kill animals for survival. Thanks to technology, we can mass produce and get food from the store.

However, to say that no one cared about themselves in the good olden days is bullshit. Just the general population didn't reflect it. Hell I bet there're people who bitched about the same thing.

However my point is to say as long as technology keeps advancing, the world will grow more disconnected and self-absorbed. It's evitable.

i agree totally that theres jerks of all races as well as good people of all races, i was only trying to make the point in my first post that minorities tend to have it harder than white people. of course thats not safe to assume that white people cant be victims of discrimination i just think its on a different scale. and as far as how you say i may have a chip on my shoulder against white people all i have to say is that my best friend is white.

people always think that their time is worse than the time of past generations. people from past generations think that when they were younger the world was better than it is now, that people were kinder, more polite, respectful, etc.. its an ongong cycle.. when i grow up and get old, im gonna bitch about what a sorry state the world is in compared to when i was 17..
