bong water

recently i started to make bongs whenever i smoke because i find it to be much more enjoyable than a pipe. whenever i make a bong i use a tall container and fill it up with lots of water so that the smoke fliters through more of it. an experienced stoner friend of mine tells me that it's overkill and i only need a little water....so i'm wondering if my theory on more water being better is correct, or if a little is all i need

all you need is a little....after so much water it won't do anything but take up more chamber space....leaving you withsmaller hits....just put enough water to submerge the tube/pipe or whatever the smoke comes in through from the bowl...throw in a half a tray of ice cubes.....and let her rip. about the only advantage of more water is it wouldn't get as dirty as quick....meaning youc an be lazy and not change it as often....although i change mine everytime i smoke
