    Seeds just germinated, question

    Hi,

My two seeds just germinated and so I planted them in potting soil in a small container (will transplant later). I'm just wondering about light right now and in the week or two to come... once they poke up through the soil, should I turn on the light? How far should (it's flourescent) it be from the plants? I've heard two inches for vegging and flowering but these are just little babies. Sorry if this has been answered already, I did look.

(Light) now, use fluros a couple inches up I use 23w cfl with reflector. Put it on either 18/6 or 24/0 now. No nutes necessary yet. Potting soil?

i use cfl's also for germination but use two 42w...giving bout 5,000 lumen...i've found it best to start the lights at about 6in. above young seedlings and gradually lower it over a week til its bout 2 in. over the plants...but thats just my technique...seedlings can be picky and its better safe than sorry when it comes to burning or overheating them when they're very young
