My age? looking at sixty and a grandfather 4 times. I am looking forward to watching my grandchildren grow up and if they are interested of course I will share a smoke. I have been smoking almost 40 years so I have a bit of an attitude.
And by the way you are showing exceptional maturity and respect for an individual of your generation and if your parents are any reflection of you I think they could handle the conversation. Start with the easy stuff, "say mom did you ever smoke pot when you were in college?" and see where that takes you.
Oh yes, avoid the pills and powders, if it don't grow don't use it
