Anyone ever use a 2.4m growtent?

I'm looking to get a double 2.4m growtent, i've used a 1.2m tent with good success.

What I want to know is;

1) I'm thinking of using 2 x 600w lights, is that sufficient lumens? Would I benefit from hanging say 4 CFL lights hanging down beyond the cannopy?

2) What sort of ventilation would be best, i'm thinking a good stand fan but can I get a cheapish air extractor to pump the hot air out, would that work or disrupt the airflow in the tent?

2x600 is great for that space. Extra CFLs... hmm... listen to that song 'blue on black' by Kenny Wayne Shepard
Ventilation for a tent is going to be important- you will need a REAL extractor fan, a good beefy one, that can handle the heat. Air-cooled hoods are your friend in a confined space!!!

Yes I admit I was looking at air-cooled hoods too but I wasn't sure whether they would be too big for the tent to be honest. I'll have to take a look at the sizes of them.

Unfortunately I dont have any kenny wayne shepard songs lol, I'll guess that cfl's wouldn't be worth the hassle?

we use 1.2m+2.4m bud tents, in the small one we use 2 600 super novas,intake 5" out going 6" r.v.k fans,and a air conditioning unit,in the big one there is 3 600s and 6" intake and 8" out going r.v.k. fans and a airconditioning unit witch is also a de/hum machine,we do s.o.g with 100 clones in the 1.2m and 200 clones in the 2.4m one:thumbsup:

I've used a 1.2m tent before, I hadn't thought you would be able to put 2x600's in there.... It was really hot with my 1x600 but i didn't use an air-cooled hood just standard.

Is the temps really that much lower with a hood? I had decided to get 2x600 hoods but if you think 3 wouldn't be a problem in my 2.4m tent I think i'll do that instead.

Would really like to be able to get 200 clones together I think i'm going to have to grow trees this time around

edit: Do you know offhand what your temps would be like with just the extractor fan on but not your air-con unit?

hello khan,without the a/c unit the temps was high 80s, with the a/c unit with everything on the temps sit at 77-79 and humidity is always 45.As for your clones grow 4 maothers for 2 months or 4 ft what ever comes first then take 60 clones of each one then you should get 200 nice clones.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Think i'll stick with 2x600's then, nice one bud. What's the best value for money for air-cooled hoods? And do you need an extractor fan on both hoods or can you link one extractor via ducting to both hoods?
