Melatonin
doesn't work for me... i still have like half a bottle of it... i started at like 1 mg and was up to 3... after a few weeks i just gave up on it working.
but then again i have severe insomnia.. and even with OTC sleeping pills like benadryl (same dose, same exact active ingredient as sleeping pills, but alot cheaper.... lol go figure) i have to take upwards of 10 or more to go to sleep (my tollerance is high, and builds fast.. i've been on it since i was like 5... even after my 'breaks' to reset my tollerance, i still have to take atlesat 6.)

Melatonin
Melatonin is good stuff, recently i had a physical and the doc told me melatonin messes with the adrenal gland so you don't want to go over 3 mg, A book from Dr. Atkins says you can take up to six mg safely, I don't know...
my bed cocktail is 3mg of melatonin for falling asleep and I take an amino acid called 5 htp with B6 to stay sleeping all night, man there is nothing like quality sleep

There's a chemical called cyclobenzaprine, prescribed as a (non-opiate) muscle relaxant called Flexeril, and THAT stuff will put you to sleep! It's odd because 50% of the time I try taking it in the day I just get really tired and go to sleep.... but the other 50% I get so "high" it's like being drunk without the blurred vision, slurring speach, or general "poisoned" feeling. I remember having it before philosophy class, because my back would lock up by the end of the prior class, and the whole time I sat there in total euphoria watching the walls move like waves
