you could replace the light inside the lava lamp with a cfl.......but then the whole light fixture would be big and bulky. and try the indoor section:thumbsup:

OMG... I've actually done that...I was germinating some seeds to put outside but htey germinated before it got warm enough 2 plant them so I flipped the lava lamp over and hung it in a cabinet i made in wood shop, I grew 4 plants in htere until it was warm enough to move them outside(wasn't very long, like a week) they grew like 4 inches n then i moved them outside. I dont think it would work for a full gorw though

im really intrestesd in this concept, i really want to try it out, what colour of lava lamp did you use ? and how big was it?

I know most of us have probably been captured by the strange yet interesting plasma blobs of a lava lamp and have more than likely stared at one for more than a few minutes. I know I have. On the other hand, have you ever been captivated by that blinding bright light that comes out of a large HID light? And tried to look at it? That is the intensity of light that is needed to grow some buds all the way through........

By the way, I in no way advocate looking at the bulb - or the sun for that matter - but I do encourage you to buy both a grow light and a lava lamp - one to grow the buds, one to look at afterwards!!! :thumbsup:

Ah Come on?. Is it April first again. You couldnt grow plants with a lava lamp they mostly use standard bulbs.. Horsecrap.......

I think he's asking if he can use the lava lamp fixture ... if so, don't do it! ... it is rated for a low wattage bulb, and putting a much larger bulb in it, could cause a fire ... :smokin:
