Take note that it isn't legalizing marijuana, it's legalizing medical marijuana for those who can benefit from it...and that's great news for me...I can't wait to see 26 states...fuck the feds.

This is the best news I've heard all year! I hope the governor lets it pass. I'd probably qualify to get a card.

it worries me that the opposers are claiming that legalizing it for medicinal use undermines that marijuana is a dangerous drug. basically it undermines the lies they have been trying to tell us all our lives. bud is safer than any other medicine we have, including aspirin and ibuprofen the most commonly used pain relievers. i hate the closed-minded stigmata being forced down our throats that weed is bad. it makes me sick. fuck this i am going to smoke.

NY Newspaper poll......
The current vote is 96% in favor of medical use being legal; 4% -NO. Can we get the numbers even higher??? Please vote! (I'd LOVE to see 99%!)
Gov will consider medical marijuana bill
If you live in NY state, you should be emailing your senators with the results of this poll! And then call up all your stoner friends, and anyone who could benefit from medical cannabis and get them to email, too! We need every one of you to break the "apathetic stoner" stereotype and do this! (Hey, even if you are in another state, you should be emailing this poll to your politicos!:dance:- When was the last time 96% of American people agreed on ANYTHING?)
A LOT of money is pushing to keep Cannabis illegal- law enforcement/prisons, pharmaceutical companies, oil companies, fiber industry, timber industry and more! The only thing we have are our voices! Fortunately, politicians feel that every message they get is the "voice" of 1,000 voters! This is a chance where a few hundred people CAN make a REAL difference!
A country is judged by the way it treats its weakest people- that happens to be those who are ill. Most of us WANT legal weed; those who are ill, NEED legal cannabis! -Granny:hippy:\"If the truth won\'t do, then something is wrong!\"

In other words, copped out again! BUT they COULD do one of those special gatherings and "iron it out" there. The will of the people is supposed to be what the politicians base their actions on! And when 96% of the people agree on ANYTHING, the politicians BETTER listen!
Gov will consider medical marijuana bill
So email ALL of your politicians- not just your local homeboy! I'm a Californian, so they won't listen to me, but you, on the other hand, being in NY, can be heard by their "oh so selective" hearing! You are THEIR BOSS, and they have forgotten that- let them know of your displeasure (politely). Every email or letter (do both) is counted as the "voice" of a thousand voters- you CAN make a difference! Be an activist for just a single day- while you get the emails together, copy the email addresses and then send the list to all of your friends! Tell them to do the same! Here's a site with the emails of your politicians-

Total BS. What is it going to take? I've done e-mails and most people I talk with seem to agree. I guess it's "Big Business" as usual. It's (been) time to re-classify/decriminalize/legalize marijuana. Technically, cocaine is a schedule II narcotic while pot is schedule I. Makes NO sense.
